The NEBOSH International Fire Certificate course is split into three units of study, each of which is assessed separately

Unit IGC1 – Management of International Health & Safety (IGC1)
Element 1 – Foundations In Health & Safety
Element 2 – Health & Safety Management: Systems 1 – Policy
Element 3 – Health & Safety Management: Systems 2 – Organising
Element 4 – Health & Safety Management: Systems 3 – Planning
Element 5 – Health & Safety Management: Systems 4 – Measuring, Audit & Review

Note: You do not have to sit IGC1 again if you have passed it within the last five years, you will be exempted from IGC1.

UNIT IFC1: Fire Safety and Risk Management

UNIT IFC2: Workplace-Based Practical Assessment (Fire Risk Assessment)

Course assessment & certification

Units IGC1 and IFC1 of the NEBOSH International Fire Certificate are each assessed by one two-hour written examination.

Unit IFC2 is assessed by a practical assessment carried out in your own workplace

NEBOSH will issue the candidate with their Certificate on successful completion of the external examinations.

International Fire Certificate Holders are entitled to Associate Membership (AIOSH) and Technician Membership (Tech IOSH) of IOSH and Associate Membership (AIIRSM)
